Promo Nest: Your Destination for Branded Merchandise

Branded merchandise is a powerful way for companies to stay in front of customers, but buying it is rarely easy. Businesses must compare suppliers, wait for quotes, and worry about artwork and delivery times. Promo Nest set out to simplify the process with an online store that offers quality products, clear pricing, and fast quotes. Aveqro built the e-commerce platform that makes ordering custom merchandise as easy as ordering a book.

The challenge

Promotional products differ from ordinary retail. Each order may involve custom logos, multiple colour options, quantity-based pricing, and approval of artwork before production. The existing process relied on emails and phone calls, which slowed sales and caused errors. Promo Nest needed a platform that could handle complex pricing, give instant guidance, and still feel simple for first-time buyers and busy procurement teams alike.

Project goals

We set these goals with the client:

  • Present a large catalogue with clear filters and product details
  • Calculate prices instantly based on quantity, colour, and print method
  • Let customers upload artwork and preview their branded product
  • Offer quick quotes for large or custom orders
  • Provide flexible, secure payment options

Our approach

We began by mapping the buying journey of three types of customers: small businesses ordering a few dozen items, event organisers with tight deadlines, and corporate buyers needing repeat orders. Their needs shaped the product page, where price tiers, delivery estimates, and artwork upload appear together instead of across several steps. We tested prototypes with real buyers and simplified the quote request until it took under two minutes to complete.

Key features

Promo Nest includes the features buyers expect from a modern store, plus tools for branded goods:

  • Searchable catalogue with filters for category, price, colour, and lead time
  • Dynamic quantity-based pricing with instant totals
  • Artwork upload with a visual mock-up preview
  • Quote request workflow with status tracking and approval
  • Reorder tools for repeat customers and saved company profiles
  • Secure checkout with card, wallet, and invoice options

Technology and architecture

The store is built on Laravel with a MySQL database, using Redis caching to keep catalogue pages fast. A pricing engine calculates costs from rules for each product, such as set-up fees and quantity breaks. Stripe and PayPal handle payments securely, so card details never touch the company servers. Uploaded artwork is validated, stored safely, and passed to the production team with an automatic order sheet. Admin tools let staff manage products, prices, and orders without developer help.

Overcoming technical challenges

Pricing flexibility was the most complex piece. Suppliers use different pricing models, so we designed a rules system that could represent them all and be updated by staff through a simple interface. We also built a bulk import tool to load hundreds of products with images and attributes, saving weeks of manual entry. Mobile checkout was tuned carefully, since many buyers browse on phones before completing orders on a desktop.

Results and impact

After launch, Promo Nest reduced the time from enquiry to order dramatically, with many standard orders now completed without any staff involvement. Quote requests arrive complete with artwork and quantities, which cuts back-and-forth messages. Customers appreciate the transparent pricing and delivery estimates, and the company has been able to handle more orders with the same team.

The easiest purchase to make is the one that answers every question before it is asked.

Looking ahead

Future improvements include an online design tool, customer account dashboards, and integrations with supplier stock feeds. If you are planning an e-commerce store with complex products, the team at Aveqro Technologies can help you design and build it.
