Finding the right doctor and getting timely care is still frustrating for many patients, while clinics struggle with fragmented software that does not talk to each other. HealthPilot aims to fix both problems with a single platform. Aveqro designed and built a software-as-a-service product that helps patients discover doctors, book appointments, and consult by video, while giving clinics and hospitals a complete toolkit to manage their operations.
The challenge
Healthcare software must be dependable, secure, and easy to use, and it must serve two very different audiences at once. Patients want speed and clarity, while hospitals need configurable workflows, reporting, and integration with their existing systems. The client also wanted an intelligent doctor discovery feature that could match patients with suitable specialists based on symptoms, location, and availability, which required careful design and responsible use of AI.
Project goals
We defined the following objectives with the HealthPilot leadership:
- Deliver a patient app for discovery, booking, and teleconsultation
- Provide a multi-tenant SaaS dashboard for clinics and hospitals
- Introduce AI-assisted doctor recommendations with clear guidance
- Protect health data with industry-grade security practices
- Build a flexible platform that can be configured for each provider
Our approach
We worked closely with doctors, administrators, and patients throughout discovery. Observing clinic reception desks showed us how much time is lost to phone scheduling and paperwork, which shaped our priorities. We designed the platform as modular building blocks, such as scheduling, telehealth, records, and billing, so that each provider can switch on the modules they need. Frequent demonstrations kept clinical staff involved and helped us refine workflows early.
Key features
HealthPilot includes a wide range of integrated services:
- Doctor discovery with filters for specialty, location, language, and availability
- AI-assisted matching that suggests suitable specialists, with a clear note that it is guidance and not a diagnosis
- Appointment booking, reminders, and waiting list management
- Secure video consultations and chat
- Patient profiles, visit history, and shared documents
- Clinic dashboards for scheduling, staff, billing, and analytics
Technology and architecture
The web interface is built with React and the services run on Node.js, with Python models supporting the recommendation engine. PostgreSQL stores structured data, and the platform runs on AWS with separate environments, automated deployments, and continuous monitoring. Each provider operates in an isolated tenant space, with encryption in transit and at rest, strict access roles, and detailed audit trails. APIs allow integration with existing hospital systems and third-party labs.
Overcoming technical challenges
Responsible AI was a central concern. We designed the recommendation feature to explain why a doctor is suggested, to avoid making medical claims, and to encourage urgent cases to seek emergency care. We also trained and evaluated the matching logic using anonymised data and tested it with clinicians for relevance. Performance and availability were handled with load balancing and automated backups, so the platform stays reliable as the number of providers grows.
Results and impact
HealthPilot has given clinics a unified system that replaces several separate tools, saving staff time and reducing scheduling errors. Patients find suitable doctors faster and appreciate the convenience of booking and consulting from one app. The configurable architecture makes onboarding new providers straightforward, supporting steady growth.
Technology in healthcare should reduce the distance between patients and the right care.
Looking ahead
Upcoming work includes remote monitoring, e-prescriptions, and richer analytics for hospital management. If you are building a healthcare or SaaS product, the team at Aveqro Technologies can help you design it for security, scale, and real-world use.
