Aveqro built a telemedicine platform that practices can set up in days, with secure video consultations, scheduling, and records all working together from the first login.
The challenge
Many small and mid-sized practices had tried telemedicine tools that were expensive, difficult to configure, or built for large hospitals. Staff needed training, patients struggled to join calls, and privacy requirements added further worry. The MediConnect team wanted a product that any clinic could adopt quickly, while still meeting the strict security and reliability standards that healthcare demands.
Project goals

Our approach
We spent the first weeks shadowing clinic staff and talking with patients, which revealed how many small frustrations occur around a consultation. Technology and architecture
The front end uses React for a fast, responsive interface, supported by a Node.js backend with a PostgreSQL database. WebRTC powers peer-to-peer video with TURN servers as a fallback for restrictive networks. Everything runs on AWS in a secure, segmented network, with data encrypted both in transit and at rest. Detailed audit logs, strict role-based permissions, and automatic session timeouts protect sensitive information, and the design follows widely recognised healthcare privacy practices.
Overcoming technical challenges
Reliable video across unpredictable home networks was our main technical test. We built pre-call checks that detect camera, microphone, and bandwidth problems, and an adaptive quality system that keeps the call stable instead of freezing. We also created a multi-tenant architecture so each practice has its own isolated data and branding while sharing the same dependable platform, which made onboarding fast and updates simple.
Results and impact
New practices can now start offering virtual appointments within days of signing up. Clinics report fewer missed appointments thanks to reminders, and patients appreciate not having to install anything.
